December 2008

December was all about getting ready for Christmas and a 5 day cruise to Progresso and Cozumel, Mexico

We left on the 20th and came back Christmas Day to rush home and open presents. Santa gave Brittany a Nissan Altima, Samantha got a flat screen TV and Kristin got her long awaited "Drivers Course".

November 2008

In November, Brittany and the FHS Lady Bulldogs took 2nd place in the State Championship Volleyball Tournament,  Joe got his dream car (Shelby GT500), Kristin continued to excel in softball, and Samantha worked hard on her 4.0 at LSU (and got it, of course).

October 2008

The Beginning of October was all about FHS Homecoming. It was Oct 10 & 11, the weekend of Samantha's (19) and Joe's (46) birthdays.

Brittany went with Taylor, her Boyfriend of over two years.  Kristin's date was Ethan.

The Second half of October will be about the State Championship Karate Tournament in Ruston, LA

September 2008

Samantha is making awesome grades and has been invited to train as an LSU Ambassador. She attended her first LSU football game and was in awe of the atmosphere.

Brittany played a lot of Volleyball (FHS is still undefeated) and she turned 19 on the 7th

Kristin started travel Softball (HAVOC) and FHS Softball. She has been getting time at both the JV and Varsity practices.

August 2008

Brittany is officially a high school senior

Kristin is now a high school freshman

Samantha is an independent LSU freshman

July 2008

Samantha returned home from Europe with lots of pictures (Samm's Facebook Page)

Joe Monique and Kristin competed in the 2008 World Karate Championships RESULTS (below the July calendar)

Brittany and Kristin attended a few Volleyball / Softball camps. Kristin turned 15 on the 13th.

Mandeville Karate's "Staff" Meeting

Due to the Memorial Day holiday, Mandeville Karate's Monday "Staff Meeting" was held at the New Orleans Area. Although no major decisions were made, a good time was had by all.

Samantha's Graduation

Samantha held up her end of the "Scholarship Challenge" so Monique and I held up our end.

For the past year or so she has been focused on "earning" a Jetta and finally had her dream come true.

April was all about Prom and Samm finally choosing between Rose-Hulman, Rice, La Tech and Colorado School of Mines.

LSU

Yes it shocked us too, but after we got over the initial confusion we realized our first born is happy and focused on LSU (Honors College)

and will only be an hour away.

March

The VooDoo season is in full swing and the family has 4 awesome seats now.

February: trip to Indiana

We took Samm to visit Rose-Hulman in Terre-Haute, Indiana on Mardi Gras / Super Bowl Sunday Weekend. With her entourage of family from Louisiana, Arkansas and Indiana in attendance, she had a blast sitting in on classes and staying over night with students. She quickly moved the school of only 1800 students to the top her list. She has also visited Rice, La Tech and Colorado School of Mines. She has been accepted by all and offered scholarships - now its time to make a decision !!!!!! Wish her (and me) luck.

February: Volleyball

Brittany's new travel Volleyball team is kick'n butt all over the south. She is getting a ton of playing time and is doing great !!

February: Weapons Training

On February 15-17 the house, dojo and local hotels were full of people from across the nation who came in for a weekend of training and fun.

January

During January, the family helped host a nation wide Black Belt Test and seminar with Dr Jordan..........................................................as well as help around the dojo with its monthly dojo competition.
