August 2009             More pictures on facebook

The Karate World Championships were July 30 - August 2 at the Hilton in New Orleans. Monday, August 3, we repacked our cloths walked two blocks from the Hilton and left on a cruise to Mexico. Samantha was the responsible one and stayed home for her new job as an RA at LSU. Now it is time for all 3 girls to focus on school.

July 2009

July started off great with a trip to Arkansas..... Boating, Magic Springs, fireworks and some good ole R and R. It was great that Samantha made the trip with a last minute "I'm in". Kristin's birthday was on the 13th, we had a nice gathering at the house with about 30 of her friends. Brittany's first Scuba Trip (check out dive) was on July 25/26 in Pensacola, FL. She if officially certified and ready for the Cozumel dive on August 6.

June 2009

June had Samantha working hard at LSU as one of the Orientation Leaders (FOAP), Brittany and Kristin "slaved" at the dojo helping with Karate Kamp. Brittany experienced LSU by participating in freshman orientation (Samm was not her leader), and Kristin spent a week at Church Camp (BigStuff in Panama City). Joe and Monique did two get-a-ways. One to Peoria Illinois for a karate tournament and seminars, the other to reading, PA for weapons training and Joe's 4th degree weapons test.

April 2009

April started with Brittany's FINAL high school prom. Her beau of over 2 years was again her date - was she gorgeous or what ?

It has been a great month with Samantha Home for spring break the first week of April and then Kristin and Brittany home for spring break the next week. Kristin went, with Monique and Joe, to the Karate National Championships in Albuquerque, NM on April 16-17 and took FIRST place in forms (pictures soon). Her first BIG title ever, it was an awesome experience for her. At the same time Brittany was on her Sr trip to Disney with her whole high school Sr class. We came home to find out Samantha had been named Associate of the Year for LSU Ambassadors. We are so proud of our girls.......

March 2009

The Family news so far for March has been HUGE.........Brittany's received her acceptance to LSU which won a bet with Daddy to let her get a belly button ring.

AND Kristin got her drivers license.....3rd time is a charm - 3rd kid is a nightmare (JK, she is doing very well, so far)

Kristin will also push her karate hard as she has qualified for the National Championships and will be attending with Monique and Joe in April.

Samantha continues to excel at LSU and as an LSU Ambassador, she is currently waiting to hear on her acceptance to be an RA next year.

February 2009

February started off with the hosting of IKKF (weapons) training. With people in town from all over the US, we wound up on Bourbon Street and in Cats.

Yes, we training also, you can see those pictures on the bottom of MKTC's February calendar. You can also see pictures on the Regional Championships we attended in Ruston.

Joe spent Mardi Gras in Vail, CO teaching, helping with a tournament. He was promised crawfish at the top of Vail Mountain, they were only $15 a lb.

The girls spent Mardi Gras in Pensacola, Fl. They tried to play on the beach, but the weather did not cooperate.

January 2009

January started off slow and ended busy with karate tournaments in Mandeville and Bossier City and softball tryouts.

Kristin made both the high school JV and Varsity squads. She starts at catcher for the JV team and is the 2nd string catcher on Varsity.
